Hello. We have an Xbox one. Playing Guitar Hero Live. New out of the box today. Cannot connect to TV part of game. Message states Cannot Connect to Server. Try again later. We have unplugged the Xbox and router from the wall on both for 10 minutes. We've cleared the cache of the game AND Xbox. We've tried later on too. GHL server shows UP which I suspect is a hoax. Xbox server shows Normal. This I know to be true.
This is not our first GHL server issue rodeo. We have another set for another game room and had the same issue last year with another set we purchased. Took months before we could play. It just showed up at random which was a surprise.
But considering what money we've put into this game with all the add on content we shouldn't only have to play half a game indefinitely. And we aren't stupid people or children. We are adults and IT specialists.
Can anyone offer a TRUE solution? And not one of the canned copy/paste responses acrivistion has posted in all of the online queries I've read for the last two hours ... please? Thanks a bunch. Anna
Thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately, this may work of connected to wifi. We are direct connect to our router as our router is only for gaming, nothing else.
I would like to add to add an additional update - yesterday we visited two friends homes to test out this issue. Installed the game on both systems, one direct connect and one wifi. No success. Then we called another who has the GHL game and they reported they cannot connect either.
What really sucks is we cannot see our game statistics and progress without GHL TV functioning. Who develops a game like this???
Update - Just chatted with an ambassador. Nice person and they tried to help for 20 minutes with no success. Frustrating for them too.
As a director of professional development and IT specialist AND gaming testor for over 20 years - it is in my professional opinion this game does not receive the support and attention it deserves. It shouldn't be sold if it doesn't work. Also, the lack of support from the activision is a direct slap in the face to those who purchase and spend endless hours trying to resolve the issue by monkeying around with in house software and settings that have no connection to the issue.
You cant host a status of UP on the sever notification page if it's not UP. It's misleading and deceptive. Kids aren't the only ones playing these games. Assuming we are all stupid and supplying canned responses to reconfigure routers is the lazy way to provide support. And while it may be easy to just switch to another game that does work, we all know once a game package is open (seal broken) it cannot be returned. So, 2 GHL systems purchased within 6 months, both have the same problem and can't be played, 350 unresolved posts on the internet for the same issue - TAKE THE ***** GAME OFF THE SHELF!!
